ADRIAN PARDEDE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS AT FOUR SEASONS RESORTS BALI (JIMBARAN BAY & SAYAN)
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
Working for the best hotel group in the world, alongside the best people on the planet. The brand also offers a program called Discovery Nights, allowing employees to enjoy dream holidays at other Four Seasons properties worldwide, truly embracing the essence of Four Seasons.
Can you explain why Four Seasons Bali Jimbaran Bay and Sayan are special, and how they differ from other luxurious resorts in Bali?
Though located only 90 minutes apart, the two Four Seasons resorts in Bali offer completely different experiences. Sayan, with 60 suites and villas, is nestled in a lush green river valley in the island’s central highlands near Ubud. It is impressive in countless ways—the setting, the size, and the magical, very spiritual atmosphere. While Jimbaran Bay, with 156 villas and residences, resembles a traditional Balinese village set right on the ocean’s edge on the southern coast. The villas are large and discrete, blending into the surrounding gardens and trees. The resort features a curved beachfront with powdery white sand, creating a serene and secluded feel, yet it is only 20 minutes from the airport.
We encourage Four Seasons guests to spend time at both resorts to enjoy a complete Balinese experience. We have even created a combination stay called ‘Bali Twice The Magic’ for guests seeking a seamless experience. Guests can also arrive at the resort in Sayan through a river raft, offering a unique alternative than the usual lobby check-in.
You have several F&B outlets. Which one is your favourite and why?
All of them are my favorites! Haha! Whether it’s the vibrant, health-conscious dishes at Alu, the Balinese specialties at Jala or Ayung Terrace, or the interactive dining with made-to-order Asian and Western cuisine at Taman Wantilan. we’ve got you covered! Many of these restaurants offer outdoor seating, a design choice that connects the resort with its beautiful surroundings.
When you’re at work, what puts a smile on your face?
The continuous opportunities for growth and development that the Four Seasons provides ensure that every day brings something new and exciting. The dynamic environment, coupled with the ability to work with two amazing properties, truly puts a smile on my face each day at work.
Can you share the latest updates about Four Seasons Resorts Bali (Jimbaran Bay & Sayan).
We recently launched exciting dining experiences at both resorts. Sundara’s new ‘Love at the Beach’ Sunday Brunch, from 11 am to 3 pm, focuses on Chef Gavin’s French-Asian haute cuisine combined with the BBQ culture of the Jimbaran fishing village. Guests can enjoy extended beach luxury at our Cabana or event at Coconut Grove, complete with Four Seasons’ catamaran, kayak, and bodyboarding.
At Four Seasons Resort Sayan, the new Riverside concept takes diners on a culinary journey that channels the cultural exchange of early Mediterranean maritime routes from Italy, Spain, France, Lebanon, and Greece. This experience is united in shared plates of seafood, homemade pasta, and sizzling meats, all set in a serene Mediterranean-inspired garden and riverside setting under the leadership of our head chef, Balinese native Wayan Sutariawan.
What is the most memorable achievement in your hospitality career?
I have so many good memories, but if I have to choose one, it would be from 2018 when our Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan was voted the #1 Best Hotel in the World by Travel + Leisure. This recognition, in the travel industry’s most prestigious awards, highlighted our unique location, architecture, and experiences. It was a team effort and a testament to our entire team for all they do every day to provide guests with lifelong memories. They truly exemplify the hospitality of Four Seasons, which is why our guests return year after year.
What do you do for fun during your days off?
I like to stay active, so you might catch me hitting the gym, playing basketball, or going for a morning jog. I also love spending time with my wife. We enjoy wandering around the island, searching for the best coffee and croissants.
