Wine is unquestionably the nectar that enables discovery of the past while fully living the present. Apéritif Restaurant and Bar, one of Bali’s premier dining destinations nestled in Ubud, is thrilled to announce its first prestigious Burgundy Wine Dinner on Friday 30 July. Through this event, food and wine connoisseurs will be given an opportunity to discover the remarkable history of Burgundy while tasting some of its best Grand Cru.

Burgundy has long been a favourite among wine connoisseurs for its renowned Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs and distinctive expressions of terroir. The name also applies to an appellation for both whites from Chardonnay and mainly reds from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Burgundy wine (French: Bourgogne or vin de Bourgogne) is wine made in the Burgundy region in eastern France, in the valleys and slopes west of the Saône, a tributary of the Rhône.

The following exclusive wines will be served during the dinner by I Made Yudiana, Restaurant Manager & Sommelier: Chablis Premier Cru ‘Fourchaume’, Burgundy, France, 2018; Meursault Premier Cru Les Cras, Burgundy, France, 2018; Beaune Premier Cru ‘Les Teurons’ Burgundy, France, 2018; Corton Grand Cru, Burgundy, France, 2017; Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, 1967; Pommard 1969.  The range of exclusive wine will be complemented with an eight-course degustation menu which will be crafted by Executive Chef Nic Vanderbeeken from Tasmanian Salmon to King Prawn, from Spring Chicken to Iberico Pork “Cross and Blackwell”, Aged Duck, Kagoshima Wagyu and Camembert in Brique.
