BALI PINK RIBBON PRESENTS ITS 13TH ANNUAL RUN & BIKE

Yayasan Pita Merah Muda Bali, known as Bali Pink Ribbon (BPR) has announced that its annual fun run fund raising event will return as a virtual run and bike this year, themed Together We Rise, in collaboration with 99 Virtual Run application. By joining, the individual donates IDR 50K to support Bali Pink Ribbon’s social campaigns and activities. The fund raise event aims to support breast cancer awareness efforts in Bali, enabling anyone to take part wherever they are in the world.

The Bali Pink Ribbon 5K Single Run and 25K Single Ride will take place on 9-10 October. This is the second year the fund raising event is held virtual due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It asks people to complete their own run or ride in local parks or neighborhoods, either by themselves or in socially distanced small groups. The event promotes the feeling of helping yourself while helping others, where participants will be motivated and feel good despite the challenging conditions in Bali, Indonesia and worldwide.

The virtual event is open to supporters of all ages and abilities, with participants encouraged to choose somewhere in the local neighborhood, such as a park or a garden and ‘race’ their distance, their way. The money raised will go towards funding free breast screening road shows round Bali and outer island with medical team and partner, Prima Medika Hospital and volunteer. Funds will also be allocated to continue having support groups meetings and free healthy living informal talk and demonstrations for breast cancer patients. BPR also provides friendly active support for breast cancer patients and their careers. The long term goal for fund raising is setting up a “rumah singgah” – free hostel for women awaiting treatment in the Denpasar hospitals.

Participants can already sign up for the race on 99 Virtual Race application available on AppStore and PlayStore. Registration dates are open from 14 July to 8 October 2021 or until slots are full.

Registration fee is IDR 179K including IDR 50K donation to BPR, eBIB, Finisher Medal, eCertificate, and entry to win a door prize. Dryfit Jersey for run is optional for IDR 199K, while for cycling is IDR 399K. Exclusive masks are also available for IDR 49K. Add-ons will include a percentage of donation to BPR.
