CELEBRATE THE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL WITH LION X’S ARTISANAL MOONCAKE SELECTION
The Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort’s Chinese Restaurant, Lion X is excited to launch the mooncake selection, specially crafted to celebrate the cherished Mid-Autumn Festival this year. We invite you to explore the variety of flavors, each telling a unique story that pays homage to this ancient tradition.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a time for family reunions, gratitude, and reflection. It’s a celebration steeped in rich folklore, including the beloved story of Chang’e, the moon goddess. With a history of over 3,000 years, the Mid-Autumn Festival originated as a royal sacrificial ceremony linked to moon worship and agricultural practices. During this time, people worshiped the moon to express gratitude for the harvest and to invite the “harvest-giving light” to return the following year. The lunar phases guided the farming calendar, leading to the belief that moon worship would ensure a bountiful harvest.
