From 29 to 30 March 2024, The Apurva Kempinski Bali welcomes talented One Michelin Star Chef Mitsuru Konishi for a world-class culinary celebration in Izakaya by OKU Bali. Combining a unique fusion of Japanese flavours with the contemporary flair of French techniques, Chef Mitsuru collaborates with Head Chef Shunji Hasegawa in crafting 5-course and 7-course Omakase experience.
Hailing from Japan, Chef Mitsuru Konishi has carved an extraordinary niche in the gastronomic world by seamlessly blending contemporary French technique with Japanese flair. His journey began at the Michelin-starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Tokyo, followed by stints at prestigious French establishments such as L’Hôtel de Carantec and Taillevent. In 2013, he made his mark in Hong Kong, contributing to the success of Lai Sun Dining and later opening Wagyu Takumi, earning two Michelin stars. His restaurant, ZEST by Konishi, embodies his culinary vision of haute French Japanese cuisine, emphasising dedication and creativity. As Executive Chef, he led ZEST to a Michelin star within a year of opening, showcasing his innovative yet respectful approach to fusion cuisine. From 29 to 30 March 2024, Chef Mitsuru Konishi’s expertise will join forces with Chef Shunji Hasegawa’s culinary skill in crafting an unforgettable dining experience at Izakaya by OKU.
