COOKING AT HOME 101 WITH THE STONES – LEGIAN, BALI
While currently people are navigating through difficult situation and are advised to do everything at home, the team of Talented Chefs at The Stones – Legian, Bali tried to make the most of it by providing virtual cooking class to the hotel’s Instagram audience. Until now, there have been many recipes shared on @thestoneslegianbali. One of them is Beef Rendang, Indonesian most loved dishes, which was made by Chef Wayan.
The ingredients needed are 1 kg beef short rib, 100 ml vegetable oil, 400 ml coconut milk, 200 ml water, paste 12 cloves of garlic, 250 gr shallots, 300 gr large red chili, 50 gr galangal, 50 gr ginger, 50 gr turmeric, 50 gr palm sugar, 4 pcs of green cardamom pods. With seasoning and spices such as 1 tsp salt, 2 turmeric leaves, 3 kaffir lime leaves and 4 stick of lemongrasses
With the cooking steps starting from firstly, roughly cut all ingredients for the paste. Secondly, add to a mortar. Third, grind into a smooth paste, Sauté the meat, paste and spices in vegetable oil. Next, add water and coconut milk. After that, simmer until the meat is tender. Lastly, serve with steamed rice and green chili sambal.
