INTERVIEW WITH ICHA ANNISA, MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER OF THE STONES HOTEL – LEGIAN, BALI – A MARRIOTT AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION HOTEL
As the Marketing Communications Manager of The Stones Hotel – Legian, Bali – A Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel, what is your strategy to attract more guests to stay at this hotel?
The challenge for The Stones Hotel is that people often mistaken us with The Stones Entertainment Center at the front, since we are owned by the same company and using the same name. But I see it as leverage instead of a disadvantage by combining our promotions/packages. Other than that, I also try to communicate as much as I can with the guests or potential guests through the Social Media channels that we have. By engaging with them, they would feel that we truly wish for them to have a wonderful experience during their visit.
How would you describe your hotel?
The Stones Hotel is a unique hotel in its own kind of way, since we have no specific guidelines from Marriott International as the Autograph Collection Hotels. We are given the freedom and encouraged to embrace our creativity as much as we’d like to, in the essence that it could bring the hotel a positive feedback and achievements. The Stones Hotel has one of the biggest ballrooms and one of the biggest pools in Bali, and we have so many other surprises on our sleeves.
Who has inspired you the most in life?
Firstly, my parents. My mom is a strong woman, she’s a go-getter and she takes no bullshit and my father was especially attentive father, he would call me all the time just to check on me. At first of course I felt annoyed but now as an adult I miss those moments. I aspire to be as tough and as resilient as they are, always striving to be the best version of myself.
What is your biggest weakness?
My biggest weakness would be that I always see the best side of everyone, even if at the end of the day not everyone can appreciate that and some may say I’m too naïve.
How did you maintain your daily personal appearance? Share your beauty tips for us
I always clean my make up and take a bath before bed. I don’t have the most perfect skin, but I rarely get pimples or breakouts. My biggest issue with my facial skin is blackheads and I wear clay mask weekly to reduce it. My tips for maintaining beauty is to ALWAYS clean your make up before you go to sleep no matter how tired (or drunk) you are!
What do you do in your leisure time?
I’m a big fan of movies; last month was Bulan Film Nasional so I re-watched some past Indonesian movies such as AADC, Arisan, Rumah Ketujuh etc. I also love to sing although I can’t say that I am a good singer haha and most of the time, I use my day-off to catch up on sleep, trying new places to eat or go out to eat with friends and cuddle with my cats J
If you could travel anywhere in the world, which destination would you choose and why?
I would go to London, or anywhere in Europe and Japan (can I select two? :D) – why, because I am always fascinated about the British culture and since I was a little I always wanted to go to London to see the Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. Maybe it’s just the princess syndrome I had when I was a kid but it’s on my checklist. And other Europe countries are simply because I see a lot of the places in movies and would love to be able to see it with my own eyes, someday. And Japan, because I want to try all the sushi and ramen directly from the original country. I’m a big foodie and I always love Japanese food. I also want to see the cherry blossom, play pachinko, to ride the Shinkansen and maybe learn some ninja skills. Sounds lame but I am an easy traveler 😀
If you could master one skill that you don’t have right now, what would it be?
Right now, I wish I were a master chef so I could cook up some nice meals for myself instead of having to go out to eat all the time haha and I wish I had ninja skills to fight against bad guys, disappear when I had to and the flexibility!
