You have been working as professional photographer for quite a long time, what it is exactly that you want to say through your photographs, and how would you actually do that?

Being a professional since 2000, for me, photography is always about ‘feel’. I tend to capture things as it is, as if I saw it with own my eyes. But in the process, I realize that it’s not enough, so I shaped my skill by learning about basic photography and various techniques from the pros in this field. Since then I had tried all kind of photography and now, I’m going back to the state of ‘feel’ once again.

What was your career path? How did you get from being an aspiring photographer to actually doing it for a living?

I always have a fondness for art and I actually took it as my major during college and since then my passion for it went deeper. Somewhere in between, I discovered photography as a medium to channel my ‘art’, because through it, I feel more focused in viewing and evaluating an object. I’ve felt in love with it (photography) ever since.

What motivate you to continue taking pictures? Pick one of the followings and explain a bit of your choice: economically, politically, intellectually or emotionally?

Emotionally, I have a great sense of curiosity and believe that every object, no matter how simple, possesses more meaning than it seems.

Which photographer or figure that has influenced you the most in life?

Davy Linggar

Could you share the most memorable experience of your career as a photographer?

I once disappointed my client until he lost all trust in me. That bad incident still lingered in my memory until now.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

I am free, detailed and easy going.

What is the dream object that you wish to capture in your photograph and why?

Maybe it’s a bit personal. Photographing my wife is one thing that I haven’t been able to do. For me, doing something with excessive feeling makes it harder to get a perfect result.
