INTERVIEW WITH THEODORUS IMMANUEL SETYO, EXECUTIVE SOUS CHEF OF PADMA RESORT LEGIAN

What did you have for dinner last night? Could you describe it in detail with your own words?

Last night I had beef sate Padang on one of the street food stall along Kebo Iwa Street. I couldn’t describe much but it is extraordinarily delicious, or maybe it was because I was really hungry, I didn’t know for sure lol.

If you weren’t a chef, what would you do for a living?

A dentist, the main reason is I got toothache so often until now, so it makes me curious to learn how to maintain healthy teeth.

If you could pick one of world’s famous figure to cook with, who would you pick and why?

Anne Olson, I really want to hone my pastry skill with the beautiful chef.

Who has inspired you the most in life?

My mom, she is the best chef in my family and her food taste incredible!

Could you tell us about one of the greatest achievement in your career?

One of the most memorable moments in my career was being able to cook together with the famous Chef Degan during Indonesian Food Promotion program at Germany for two consecutive years, 2014 and 2015.

If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Mie Ongkok, Spaghetti Aglio-Olio and any kind of steak.

Most memorable vacation destination that you’ve been to?

Bali, of course! It is one of the best destinations in the world! Since now I live here, it don’t need to take too much budget to explore and do trip around the island, beside, I have many friends here as well.

What is your resolution for this year, and how would you fulfil it?

This year, I want to get closer with all the people I love, nature and keep working hard. I also want to expand my knowledge in all aspects, gain more friends and always be grateful for what I have.
