Congratulations on your new role! Tell us how you feel about being the General Manager at one of the best resorts in Indonesia.
I feel grateful, blessed, and proud. Alila Villas Uluwatu isn’t just recognized as one of the premier resorts in Indonesia; it stands as a beacon of excellence on a global scale.
With experience working at various brands across the world, what attracted you to go to Bali and work at Alila Villas Uluwatu?
Bali holds a special allure, primarily due to its vibrant culture, harmonious blend of traditions, and exceptional lifestyle. Alila Villas Uluwatu is a sanctuary of architectural brilliance, deeply committed to sustainability, and boasts a team unparalleled in their dedication to guest care and mutual support.
You have worked in the industry for some time, what is the biggest achievement that you have accomplished and what do you think is the secret to your achievement?
While I’ve had numerous accomplishments, I consider opening a resort in the Maldives during the pandemic as one of the most notable. It was a challenging period for our industry, marked by closures and layoffs. Yet, amidst this turmoil, we forged ahead, opening our doors and expanding our team.

We recently introduced a new menu at Cire, our Mediterranean restaurant, reflecting our core values of sustainability and local sourcing. We’ve incorporated more ingredients from our revamped organic garden, along with a greater emphasis on health-conscious culinary techniques. Additionally, we’ve established our Archery Academy, promoting mindfulness and concentration through this engaging sport.
You started your career in F&B, why did you choose to step out of it and who inspired you?
While my roots are in F&B, my ultimate ambition has always been in hotel management, particularly within the realm of resorts. After attaining leadership positions in F&B, I sought to further my career by stepping into the role of Resort Manager. However, my passion for F&B remains strong and continues to inspire me.
How do you maintain a work-life balance?
I do sports, such as Golf and tennis, explore different resorts and restaurants, and find solace in cooking, which serves as a therapeutic outlet for me.
