INTERVIEW WITH KRISTANTI TANNADY HOTEL MANAGER PADMA RESORT LEGIAN
Can you share what excites you the most about being the Hotel Manager of Padma Resort Legian!
The beauty of the hotel itself and the warmth of the team. I am particularly excited to understand the diverse backgrounds and strength that the team brings to the table, the walks of life we have all experienced, and the valuable lessons we can learn from one another. Additionally, I also treasured all the guests I had the fortune of meeting and listening to their stories about the hotel and their experiences.
What strategies or principles do you believe have contributed most to your success?
My dedication to fostering meaningful connections with people, the commitment to honesty and transparency, and my ability to remain resilient in the face of challenges have been pivotal to my success. I believe that creating trust and open communication forms the foundation of strong professional relationships. Furthermore, resilience enables me to navigate adversity with determination and adaptability, allowing me to maintain focus on achieving long-term goals. Together, these principles have consistently guided me in making sound decisions and driving impactful outcomes.
How does Padma Resort Legian stand out from other luxury resorts in Bali, and what unique value does it bring to guests?
Personality and authenticity. While beautiful hotels can be built everywhere in the world, personality cannot be taught, as it comes from the heart. Padma Resort Legian’s team consistently delivers that genuine service which reflected in our day-to-day interactions.
Along with the team’s commitment to excellence in everything that we do, these qualities have shaped the culture of Padma Hotels. This is what sets us apart from other hotels.
You likely interact with a diverse range of guests, team members, and partners. What skills do you believe are essential for successful communication and management in the hospitality industry?
Effective communication and management in hospitality require active listening, empathy, and cultural awareness to connect with diverse individuals. Clear communication, adaptability, and problem-solving are essential for meeting expectations and handling challenges. Strong leadership and teamwork foster a collaborative environment, and a customer-focused mindset helps build lasting relationships.
Could you share with us the latest update about Padma Resort Legian?
We have recently reopened the highly anticipated SKAI Bar & Grill, now featuring a fresh look and an exciting new concept that showcases modern Mediterranean cuisine and an array of artisan cocktails. In addition, we have expanded our garden area to include more outdoor facilities and activities suitable for guests of all ages, such as a kitchen garden, paintball and gel blaster area, a mushroom hut, and more. This North Garden area is also perfect for hosting private events, from wedding ceremonies and dinner receptions to corporate gatherings and celebrations.
To enhance our guests & experience further, we have introduced new options and updates to our dining and spa programmes, ensuring there is always something fresh and engaging for our guests to enjoy during their stay.
Who has inspired you the most in life and why?
My mother is my role model. She teaches me the value of compassion, determination and hard work. She taught me the importance of being an independent woman, never giving up and always have a hope, even during life’s most challenging moments.
How do you manage to maintain a healthy work-life balance?
I make it a point not to take work home with me. I prioritise tasks that need to be completed each day and ensure they are finished before I leave. As an extroverted- introvert, I enjoy being around people at work, but I also value my alone time. I love spending quality time at home cooking, going to the movies, or indulging in a spa day.
These moments allow me to recharge and feel grateful for everything around me.
