Tell us about your journey in the hospitality industry. How did it all start?
I began my hospitality career 12 years ago, initially working in sales before transitioning to a PR Executive role at a 5-star resort in the Nusa Dua area. While I appreciated the dynamic, fast-paced nature of sales, I discovered that my true passion lay in the storytelling and relationship-building aspects of the industry. This realization led me to shift into PR, where I could focus on creating meaningful connections, shaping brand narratives, and bringing guest experiences to life in a more creative and impactful way. The transition felt natural, as it allowed me to seamlessly blend strategic thinking with creative expression. Over the years, my passion for marketing communications has only deepened, and I continue to be inspired by the power of storytelling in connecting people and brands.
How does it feel to be the Assistant Director of Marketing Communications at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa Resort & Spa?
It’s a privilege to be in this role at Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa. Each day offers a fresh opportunity to showcase the unique experiences we offer and to bring our brand to life in new and exciting ways. The creativity and energy of our team make this journey all the more rewarding, especially when we have the chance to connect with guests and help them discover something new. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to contribute as part of the marketing team within the Marriott Business Council Indonesia. It’s about understanding what guests truly want, even before they ask, and turning those desires into meaningful experiences. It’s also about staying ahead of trends while staying true to the core values of the brand. Building strong, collaborative relationships is key, because in this industry, every successful experience is a result of working together, whether with guests, colleagues, or partners.
What are some of the key trends you’re seeing among luxury travelers today?
Today’s travelers are looking for more than just a place to stay. They want to truly connect with their destination. They’re curious and adventurous, seeking authentic experiences that bring them closer to the local culture. At Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa, we focus on creating moments of discovery, whether through unique dining experiences, locally inspired designs, or engaging activities that highlight the area’s best. We also invite guests to unwind with our daily Punch Bowl ritual at R Bar, where they can connect over carefully crafted cocktails in a vibrant, social setting. This involves crafting stories that capture the essence of our brand across all platforms, building strong partnerships that amplify what we stand for, and staying agile in our marketing approach to adapt to trends and guest expectations.
