Could you share the latest update about Alila Villas Uluwatu?
In Food and Beverage, we have just launched our new Brisa Brunch, a lively brunch experience with endless options that marries the finest organic and locally sourced ingredients with the bold, vibrant flavors of Latin cuisine. Diners are invited to curate their own culinary journey, choosing from a generous menu featuring tantalizing appetizers, gourmet mains, enticing sides, and decadent desserts. Alternatively, those seeking a more carefree experience can simply share any dietary restrictions or allergies and leave it to our chef to present his handpicked recommendations.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we are going to host a collaboration with GU:UM restaurant in Singapore. Chef Louis Han, the culinary maestro behind GU:UM and its sister restaurant, the one-MICHELIN-starred NAE:UM, will take over The Warung to ignite taste buds with a modern Korean culinary adventure for two nights only, on 14 and 15 February 2025.
In Q1 2025, Alila Villas Uluwatu and the rest of the Alila properties around the globe will launch a new initiative called “Alila Moments,” a curated collection of unique experiences designed for those who believe the world is vast and rich with possibility. In your opinion, what trends will dominate the luxury travel sector this year
I think that in 2025, luxury travel will be characterized more by hyper-personalization, wellness, and multi-generational experiences. Travelers will seek bespoke itineraries that reflect their interests and goals, with crafted experiences designed to explore unique places and provide exclusive access. Many will also look for personalized health programs that combine mental and physical rejuvenation. They are searching for a few-day retreats that are sometimes combined with a holiday. Additionally, there will be an increase in demand for exclusive-use villas, mansions, yachts, and even private venues for milestone birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, and weddings, celebrated with parents, children, and grandparents.
At Alila Villas Uluwatu, what are some of your personal favorite experiences as well as those most loved by guests that you’d like to recommend to our readers.
One of my personal favorite experiences is our soon-to-be-launched Alila Moments: The Spiritual Essence of Bali. When I designed this crafted experience, it was intended to provide an immersion in Bali’s essence through a transformative journey of connection and renewal. From the serene “Melukat” cleansing ritual to savoring the heritage of a “Nasi Yasa” breakfast, each moment celebrates Balinese culture. Guests will craft traditional offerings, visit the iconic Uluwatu Temple, and witness the enchanting “Kecak Dance” at sunset. This soulful experience fosters mindfulness, gratitude, and creativity, leaving guests with lasting memories and a profound connection to Bali’s timeless beauty and vibrant traditions. Readers should look out for this experience in February 2025.
On your days off, what do you like to do to relax and recharge?
I like to have “me time” by relaxing and resting my mind at home. I enjoy reading a book or playing with my dog. Sometimes, I visit my parents to catch up on their stories and share laughter.
