author : , published : 27 May 2020

Meliá Bali’s utmost concern is the health and safety of its guests and employees. That is why the hotel has adapted all of its conducts according to the COVID-19 Preventive Measures set by the World Health Organization without lessening the guests’ comfort, nor reducing their expected tropical paradise experience.

To take a step further, Meliá Bali mandates its entire staff to complete Covid-19 Online Training and Certification from Bali International Medical Centre (BIMC) and World Health Organization (WHO), which makes Melia Bali as the first hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali area to do so. The hotel is also implementing daily health monitoring and daily disinfection regulation as well as preparing all adequate anti-epidemic materials. In total, there are about 165 disease preventive measures that the hotel has taken – this is more than the surrounding establishments have taken.

Meliá Hotels International, the corporate hotel group of Meliá Bali, and Bureau Veritas, a leader in testing, inspection and certification, have also signed an international agreement for Global Safe Site certification. This is based on “Stay Safe by Meliá”, a program for compliance with preventive health and safety measures that establishments in more than 40 countries must carry out as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As Gabriel Escarrer, Executive Vice President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, explains: “Bureau Veritas’ certification confirms that our new processes and adaptation of spaces comply with the most stringent health and safety precautions and the most demanding international standards. This will be a key factor for operating in the postCOVID-19 era.”

The preventive measures that have been incorporated from “Stay Safe by Meliá” consist of, but not confined to, pre-arrival information and preparation before travel, new signage system, capacity reduction to guarantee social distancing, installation of protective screens in reception and dining-room services, digitalized system to eliminate all paper, and further preventive detailed measures for every department at every area of the hotel to truly adjust every activity and facility of the hotel to not only meet, but exceed, the health and safety standards.
