Record Store Day is an annual event that founded in 2007, and held on the third Saturday of April each year to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store. The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world. This annual event is also known as a strength and power to support and keep the physical release of bands in the midst digital century.

The first Record Store Day in Indonesia was only celebrated in the capital city of Jakarta. But as time goes by and the independently music in Indonesia becomes more powerful, a lot of cities such as Yogyakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and finally Bali, have decided to join this event.

As the first time to celebrate Record Store Day, some groups of local record stores and independent music label owners chose to run this event on Sunday, 17th of April 2016 at Rumah Sanur Creative Hub. On this day there were a few record stores and music labels selling some of band’s merchandises, band’s physical releases such as Trill/Cult Record Label, Antida Record Label, Memoria Record Store, Sub Store, and Rewind Record Store. Bands like Jangar, Pygmoss, Papronic and many others were also launched their physical albums.

To inform people about the first RSD Bali 2016, they held another music discussion with a theme, ‘Road to RSD Bali 2016’ on every Saturday of March at Slashtrack, Sub Store, Rewind Record Store and Memoria Record Store.
