FINAL ‘MELASPAS’ RITUAL ON GWK STATUE CONSTRUCTION BEFORE OFFICIATED
Alam Sutera Projects GWK Cultural Park as an International Standard Multi Event Venue
Bukit Ungasan, Badung, 8 August 2018 – As final phase in the recent completion of Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue construction, PT Alam Sutera Realty Tbk. (Alam Sutera) held the ‘Melaspas’ ritual today at GWK Cultural Park, Ungasan, Badung, Bali. Melaspas is a Hindu Dharma purification ritual to cleanse buildings at a spiritual level. This Melaspas Ritual is the last series of rituals, following of the Pasupati ritual held before on the GWK Statue Pedestal Plaza lobby for placement of the GWK Statue crown in May 2018.
The Melaspas Ritual was attended by Coordinator Minister for Maritime Republic of Indonesia, Bapak Jenderal TNI (Purn.) Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. President Commissioner of PT Garuda Adhimatra Indonesia, Mayjen TNI (Purn) Sang Nyoman Suwisma, and Bapak Haryanto Tirtohadiguno, President Commissioner of Alam Sutera Group.
With the Melaspas ceremony held today, the traditional and religious ritual is complete, starting from Resi Gana and Pasupati ritual conducted previously. Therefore the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is now ready to be officiated.
In 2012, Alam Sutera acquired ownership of GWK Cultural Park area. Alam Sutera conducted various area improvements to develop GWK Cultural Park as the best cultural and tourism destination in Bali and build the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue comprehensively towards perfection.
GWK statue, which is set to be the nation’s cultural icon, has been completed. This statue is the largest statue in the world and 3rd highest in the world. The entire Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue rises at a height of 121 meters on top of a pedestal. With the wing span of 64 meters, Bali’s landmark icon stands proudly on the top of Ungasan hill, inside GWK Cultural Park area.
Alam Sutera will develop GWK Cultural Park complex which is set on a 60 hectare land, as a tourism destination with its GWK statue, as well as facilitate cultural expressions that is ready to host international standard cultural multi events, indoor or outdoor that can accommodate up to 40,000 people.
