With the tagline ‘Embracing Uniqueness and Tolerance’, Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2016 successfully put Bali in the eye of international music scene once again. The festival kicked off Friday August 12th and continued through to late Saturday night with massive crowds keen to experience great music, food and stalls with the impressive Giri, Padi and Subak stages displaying world-class local and international jazz talent. Over 70 artists from several nations showcased their talent across 3 stages over two days course of quality music on the menu, including Peter Bernstein and Rueben Rogers (USA), Louis! Project (Holland), Gregory Gaynair (Germany), to Asia’s finest Angin Asia (Japan) and Julian Banks (Australia), and many Indonesian young talents, from Oele Pattiselano, Mia Samira, Nita Aartsen, to Bali’s finest; Sandy Winarta Trio, Bali Gypsy Fire to the best members of Underground Jazz Movement (UJM) Project.
