W BALI – SEMINYAK INTRODUCES FOOD FOR THOUGHT

author : , published : 16 February 2021

Against the backdrop of the global pandemic, and with travelers increasingly aspiring to make a positive impact on the communities they visit whether locally or abroad, W Bali – Seminyak introduces Food for Thought, as part of Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy. W Bali – Seminyak joins 14 other Marriott International properties across Asia Pacific as part of the program’s pilot launch Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy. A program offering meaningful travel across Asia Pacific aiming to create opportunities for guests to forge first hand connections with local communities and the environment during their stay promoting both cultural understanding and positive change.

The experience invites guests to forge a first-hand connection with the local environment and community during their stay. Partnering with Scholars of Sustenance (S.O.S), we will offer a one of a kind experience for guests to help distributing surplus food to unprivileged children and people in need across Bali whilst encouraging a cleaner and greener environment.

One of the growing trends we’re observing is how conscious people are of their personal impact on the environment and the destinations they visit,” said Andreas Bergel, Hotel Manager of W Bali – Seminyak. “Food for Thought offered at W Bali – Seminyak provides an excellent opportunity for our guests to connect with the local communities, allowing them to give back while staying with us We are excited to launch Food for Thought as part of Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy and look forward to bringing truly meaningful travel to our guests at home, or from abroad once international travel resumes.”

The experience is available for guests starting in February, once every two weeks on Tuesday. The registered guests will see the food process at SOS kitchen and witness firsthand where the food we carefully pack each day is going. The excess hotel’s food items such as meat, fruits, vegetables and bread are packed in appropriate food grade containers and delivered to S.O.S kitchen. Their in-house food hygienists will inspect the food on arrival and separate into edible and inedible food, from there they will optimize the produce and prepare nutritional meals for the children. Together with them, guests can assist in food distribution to people in need.

Guests can make a booking at our Welcome Desk. As of launch time, Good Travel with Marriott Bonvoy features 15 meaningful experiences across three distinct pillars environmental protection, community engagement and marine conservation.
